Why does the delectable mango have such a poor rep?

No matter whatever kind of the Indian fruit you prefer, Indian summers are incomplete without at least a handful of the best mangoes the season has to offer. Nonetheless, if you’re even slightly health-conscious, you’ve probably been taught to avoid mangoes as much as possible.

Mangoes are high in calories and fruit sugars, but that doesn’t imply eating them will make you gain weight. This fruit is also high in vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, potassium, copper, and bioactive substances such as mangiferin, catechins, and quercetin, which your body need in large quantities. So, as long as you don’t overeat them, mangoes are actually more nourishing than fattening.

Experts advise diabetics to eat fruits with a glycaemic index (GI) of less than 55. Mangoes have a GI of 51, so they don’t raise blood sugar levels too much. As a result, diabetics can safely eat modest pieces of mangoes in the morning. Excessive mango consumption, on the other hand, can be exceedingly dangerous to diabetics and should be avoided at all costs.
