Review of The Matrix Resurrections: Touching! Action-Packed!

It is really an honour to be able to write this review because I was able to attend U.S. Premiere in San Francisco this past Saturday. Not only was it an amazing experience, but the film was also wonderful, making it a night to remember. The Matrix Resurrections is the fourth instalment in the Matrix franchise, with the third instalment being released nearly two decades earlier in 2003. Make sure you’ve seen the first three Matrix films because this is a film that can only be completely appreciated if you’ve seen the entire series.

The easiest way to approach this picture is to go in nearly completely blind. As a result, I will not provide any storyline elements about the movie. What I’ll say is that The Matrix Resurrections is a fantastic tribute to the past while still being pleasant on its own, not relying entirely on the work of previous films but instead harnessing nostalgia to create a meta-experience that honours the Wachowski sisters’ work throughout the years. It’s the ideal “reboot,” serving as much of a continuation of the franchise rather than a fresh start.

The film’s mix of new and old characters adds a new dimension to the franchise, while also honouring the work and dedication of the franchise’s alumni and their years of collaboration with Lana Wachowski. It’s impossible not to fall in love with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss again, and to become engrossed in their storey. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Priyanka Chopra round out the cast.

In Gautham and Sitar's matters, I will be very strict...!

The best thing about The Matrix Resurrections is that it is clearly a film made by someone who cares deeply about the plot, the characters, and the franchise’s legacy. Lana Wachowski and her sister Lily built a world that would go down in history as one of the most popular. Because the film is a trans-metaphor, it has enabled a lot of individuals to become who they’ve always wanted to be and who they’ve always been. Lana opted to make this fourth film because she genuinely cares about the characters and the film’s legacy.

It’s entertaining, touching, action-packed, hilarious, and respectable. The Matrix Resurrections will delight aficionados of the franchise while also pique the interest of those who have yet to view the previous films in the series, such as myself. I’m pleased I immersed myself in The Matrix universe before seeing this movie, and I can’t image the joy of fans who grew up with the franchise.

‘The Matrix Resurrections’ is a sequel to ‘The Matrix’. 4 out of 5 stars
