Kadambur C Raju, the AIADMK’s Kovilpatti candidate, has been charged under two parts of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for obstructing a flying squad from inspecting his vehicle on Friday evening.
According to police, the community service registry (CSR) was released as a result of the complaint.
At Uthupatti village, between Kadambur and Kovilpatti, the minister got into an altercation with the official who was inspecting his vehicle and two others who were with him. Meanwhile, district election officer K Senthil Raj dismissed claims that Marimuthu, a highways department assistant engineer, had been transferred and that the order had been revoked later as rumours. The incident is being investigated by the district revenue officer, and both parties have filed charges.
